Hi guys! Welcome back. Today we are tackling a new topic. This is actually a goal for many teens nowadays including me. It’s an empowering feeling, making your first dollar. You must be sick of hearing your parents say “You don’t know the hard work, blood and sweat that goes into making a single rupee” (Haha, not anymore mom!). But on a more serious note, learning new and profitable skills that could act as a source of income in the future is crucial in today’s times. And not to say an incredibly impressive skill such as editing or writing may come in useful for making your college applications shinier and more impactful. Learning a new skill that you are actually passionate about can be extremely helpful. You can do what you love and make a few extra bucks while doing it! A sweet deal if you ask me! Extra pocket money never hurt anybody! So, without further ado, let’s get started and learn 5 ways for teenagers to earn money at home.

1.      Freelancing

The term “freelancing” means self-employed and hired to work for different companies on particular assignments. Which means you get to work on your own terms. Sites like fiverr and upwork allow teens above 13 to create accounts as freelancers. There, you could offer many services that you are an expert at. Profiles are extremely easy to set up and it won’t be long until a buyer comes knocking down to buy your services.

2.      Becoming a Blogger or YouTuber

This is one of the best ways to earn money, take it from me. You could write or talk about something you like and easily earn money from that. You should start by creating sites or accounts for you to upload your content onto. For Blog, affiliate marketing or ads might be the best way to monetize while in YouTube you can easily add ads with a single click. Make sure to leave the link to your content in the comments so we can marvel at your amazing creations.

3.      T-Shirt Designing

Have a knack for creating great designs? Try t-shirt designing. You might think that this is a difficult process. But it will probably take you less than an hour to upload a design. Using easy to use websites like teespring and canva creating a t-shirt design has never been more effortless.

4.      Audio Work

Have a headphone and a computer you can use? Get started with voice over works. You could convert books into audiobooks and earn money from it! You could even record a simple narration for a video. Sites like ACX and Voices.com allow you to do exactly that. If you know how to speak English fluently then go for this.

5.      Book Review writing

Are you a bookworm like me? Do you have many thoughts you would like to share on the latest book you’ve read? Then try Book review writing. There are many sites that offer up to 15 dollars for a single review. This could be a great option for avid readers. However, you need to be very good at grammar and writing. If you are try applying to Online Book Club. This is a very good site that accepts applications from teens too.
