Top 5 Best Holiday-Themed books to read this Winter Break~

Finally! We are in the holiday season. Thank God, we are finally getting the time to post blogs again. Holidays, what a magical time! I mean everybody has to admit it, some people may not like the festivities of it all but we get to chill on our couches 24 hours long and cuddle up to our favorite books. What is cooler than that? Seriously, having a hot cup of chocolate milk and enjoying cheesy holiday books is more relaxing than a day at the spa!

But not everybody knows what books are worth reading. So here we are, helping you out with that exact issue. I guess you could call us the Santa who is bringing you the most valuable gift of all, a good book rec list. Now, let’s dive right in.

1. Little Women

Ah! This here is a classic. I’ve already expressed my love for this amazing book in our previous blog. It has all the elements which constitutes a good Christmas read. Sisterhood, coming-of-age trope and just a little bit of romance, this book has it all. It is also one of the most famous pieces of early feminist literature. Truly a gem!

2. Hercule Poirot’s Christmas

Want something a little more exciting to read? How about a mystery written by the legendary mystery writer Agatha Christie herself. It’s a classic whodunit story. An old man dies on Christmas and the famous detective Hercule Poirot has to solve the case.

3. A Christmas Carol

This book is written by Charles Dickens who is known as the father of Christmas books. He is the O.G. This is a classic that should be a must –read for every X-mas lover. It tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge who has a ghostly encounter on Christmas. Don’t worry it is not scary at all.

4. The Valancourt Book of Victorian Christmas Ghost Stories

Who said Christmas is only for cheery people? There are also books for people who enjoy the darker side of X-mas. This book is for those who love to read the spooky and kooky tales instead of happy ones. Thirteen of the chilling ghost tales published by Victorian era writers is offered in this book.

5. One Way or Another

This rec list isn’t gonna be complete without a romance book is it? This book will give you all the feels and the boost of serotonin that we all desperately need. It provides us with a perfect narrative. It has my favorite friends-to-lovers trope as well as some much needed proper anxiety representation in teens.

That’s it guys! Thank you for reading this blog, hope y’all enjoyed it. Leave the name of your favorite holiday book in the comment section below. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
