5 Hobbies that are really enlightening

5 Hobbies that are actually really enlightening and great for personal growth

Everybody needs a hobby, am I right? But if you are like me, you probably can’t commit to just one hobby and keep on switching them. Trust me, I’ve done all sorts of things but most of them were useless and didn’t contribute anything to my personal growth. But I tried some hobbies that actually were not just time-passers but were really engaging and therapeutic. So here are 5 of them.

Journaling

Journaling may sound like the hobbies that very classy people do but it is great for anybody who is looking for a great hobby and looking to solve some of their issues. Writing your issues down helps you track them and helps solve them. All you need is a book, pen and determination.

Mandala art

Mandala art is a certified therapeutic way to control your anger. You might have heard of coloring books to deflect your anger and mandala is similar to that. Except you don’t need to spend money on a coloring book. Just make repetitive patterns on a circle and there you have it a beautiful mandala piece that you made by yourself.

Writing prompts

This is for my literary friends out there. There are tons of pins and posts you can find on Pinterest that give you free writing prompts. So basically, what you do is pick a writing prompt and write a short story using it. Take this writing prompt for an example, “Write about a mystery chest a character found in the attic”. This will really help with your writing and it’s a fun way to grow your imagination.

Scrapbooking

Found something interesting in a magazine? Something that tinkers your fancy? Just cut it out and stick it on a book and write a quote or two below it. And you have made yourself a beautiful scrapbook full of stuff that tinkers your artsy soul.

Knitting or Crocheting

Now this is a really therapeutic and productive hobby…. Once you get the hang of it. It might be a bit frustrating sometimes but it is really worth it when you make a beautiful piece of clothing you can actually use or wear. And no, other people do it too not only grandmas. So, grab yourself a hot chocolate and get cozy in a rocking chair to make some sweaters.

Hope you found this helpful. Share this blog to anyone who might be looking for a new hobby. Bye!
