Spicy Food from around the globe


Hey guys how are you holding up? Let's start with some good news shall we? I heard a vaccine was approved and it could be available any time, so I hope that we get the vaccine as soon as possible and this nightmare will finally be over. So last time I wrote a blog about sweets and this time your girl is back with a blog for all the spice lovers all there. Truth be said I love spicy food and I've had so many times that I got a severe tummy ache ooh and food poisoning but let me tell you it was worth it. Since I live in india, spice is literally everywhere, so good thing I like it. Today we'll be exploring 10 different spicy foods from around the world . Hope you like it

10. Jerk chicken from Jamaica


This chicken will really have you reaching out for the tissues. This special chicken dish from Jamaica is made using the finest Caribbean ingredients cloves, cinnamon, spring onions, nutmeg, thyme and garlic. Since it is so spicy I recommend you to have it with a bowl of rice.

9. Sichuan Hot -pot from Mongolia


Hot pot is really popular among the Mongolian folks. So it is no surprise that the Sichuan Hot -pot is a crowd favorite.  raw pieces of meat, garlic, onion and other vegetables sit in a hot broth laden with Sichuan peppers.

8. Griot from Haiti


Now this one is the hottest dish in all of Haiti so you better believe it's spicy as hell. It's traditionally made with pork shoulder and the meal is drenched in Haitian hot sauce which is comprised of apple cider vinegar, pickled peppers and minced scotch bonnet or habanero chilli peppers.

7. Sik Sik Wat from Ethiopia


This is more of a paste than a dish but when it is mixed with beef and chicken stews it is said to be heaven on earth. This thick and fragrant paste is made with chilli peppers, paprika, and fenugreek.

6. Tom Yum from Thailand


This epic and tasteful dish is a traditional Thai offering. This sour and spicy soup is made with chicken or seafood and is loved for its unique taste. Tom Yum packs a punch when it comes to raw heat, provided by the Thai Bird’s Eye Chilli

5. Otak-Otak from Indonesia


Fun fact did you know that the name of this dish means brains!!. But don't worry there are no brains harmed in the making of this dish. It is packed in banana leaves and Inside the outer banana leaf is a seafood cake made up of ground fish, tapioca starch, and native spices called belacan and galangal (similar looking to ginger but with the flavor profile of pepper). It is generally white but Malaysia and Singapore have darker ones.

4. Kimchi Jjigae from south Korea


Kimchi already means pickle so it is ofcourse very spicy. You are going to be sweating a bucket if you ever try this so keep a hand towel by your side. This korean offering contains tofu, mushrooms, green onions, garlic, and countless red chilli peppers. 

3. Suicide Chicken wings


I think the name itself explains it so imma just leave it at that. This American appetizer dish is made from a marinade of chopped chilies, hot red-chili sauce, pepper, and more of the red chili flakes.

2. Cau-Cau


Another stew on the list. This is going to make you reach for the milk bottle in your fridge. The traditional Cau Cau of Creole is generally served with rice. Fine strips of tripe are pre-cooked and then cooked together with potatoes, the aji Amarillo Peruvian yellow chilies, lots of ginger, and garlic with a sprinkling of chopped Herba Buena or simple mint. 

1. Phaal Curry from India



This is the spiciest dish in the world. Did you know those who dare to eat are made to sign a form?!!. It contains ten different peppers including the infamous bhut jolokia, the world's hottest pepper.
